The following convention is used to designate production hybrids at LBNL. Example: 2P3 Means 2-chip hybrid, Phi side, serial number 3. Example: 4Z47 Means 4-chip hybrid, Z side, serial number 47. (note that 4-chip hybrids only occur on the z-side- layer 3) On the actual hybrids we only write the serial number. For example on 2P3 would be just the number 3. The fact that it's a 2-chip hybrid meant for the phi side is obvious from looking at it. Finally, because hybrids are made on multi-part plates, there will be for example hybrids 2P3, 2Z3, 4Z3, and 6P3 all with the same serial number. These all come from the same BeO plate.
