Understanding of b-jets
We found in run I (CDF-3253) and in run II (NIM paper), that the amount of energy (PT actually) in the annulus disagrees. This is shown in the attached plot from gam-jet balance, taken from the NIM paper. We did it in jets in the W+jets sample and Z+jets sample.
Now the question is: where is the disagreent? In the energy inside the cone or in the energy outside the cone? There is no way to find out.
Of course, these are mostly light quarks. Do we have such a study for b-jets? is there enough statistics to do this? you can certainly accomodate a (2.6+2.1-1.8)% disagreement from this plot
